The book, published in hardcover by Times Books in 2005, and in paperback the following year, is by the journalists Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn. The book was re-released, with a slightly different subtitle and a new postscript, in 2011, just before the tenth anniversary of September 11th.The title of the book refers to the timeline of the catastrophe in Manhattan.
At 8:46 a.m., on September 11th, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center (1 WTC).
United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower (2 WTC) at 9:03 a.m.
The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. The North Tower fell at 10:28 a.m.--102 minutes after the attacks in New York began.
