Eileen Wilson and Frank Sinatra, on "Your Hit Parade" |
I wrote in this space, recently, about the singer Eileen Wilson--one of the original stars of the television show Your Hit Parade. Ms. Wilson died in September of 2018, at age 95.
She sang on the Hit Parade TV program from 1950 to 1952. She also starred on the Hit Parade radio show--from 1948 until 1951.
There is a nice photograph currently for sale on ebay, of Ms. Wilson and her Hit Parade radio show co-star, Frank Sinatra. The press release accompanying the photo is from February of 1949.
As noted by author John R. Williams, in his book This Was Your Hit Parade (Camden, ME: 1973), Mr. Sinatra sang on the Hit Parade radio show during two periods--1943 to 1944, and 1947 to 1949. Eileen Wilson joined the radio show in 1948, and so she and Mr. Sinatra sang on the program together in 1948 and 1949.
